Messi Invites Barcelona To Ceasefire
JAKARTA - Lionel Messi wants to end his conflict with Barcelona. He also urged unity in the club he wanted to leave last season.
The Barcelona captain spoke to Barcelona newspaper Sport in an interview published Tuesday at midnight local time.
"After so much controversy, I want to end it," Messi said as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, September 30.
"We have to unite all the Barcelona people and see that the best will come."
Messi was referring to his efforts to force Barcelona to remove him from the final year of his contract after a bad end last season which saw the club not win a single trophy.
"I take responsibility for my mistakes which, if any, are for the sake of making FC Barcelona even better and stronger," said the Argentine star.
"I want to send a message to all the members of this club and to all the fans. If anyone is bothered by my words or actions, they must not doubt that I always think about the best for this club."
"Adding passion and passion will be the only way to achieve our goals, always united and drawn in the same direction," said Messi, who last Friday criticized the way Barcelona kicked Luis Suarez saying "to be honest it is no longer surprising. me."
