Jokowi Asks For Mini Lockdown, DKI Deputy Governor: We Have Implemented It
JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria responded to President Joko Widodo's wish for local governments to implement micro-scale social restrictions (PSBM) or mini lockdowns compared to large-scale social restrictions (PSBB).
Riza admitted, actually the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has implemented a restriction system similar to a mini lockdown, which is called Kampung Siaga.
"Pak Jokowi gave directions if it was possible to carry out a mini lockdown in Jakarta. I would like to say that, from the start, Jakarta had actually made the concept of an Alert Village in all RWs. That is actually like a mini lockdown," said Riza at the City Hall of DKI, Tuesday, September 29. .
Riza said that Kampung Siaga was implemented during the PSBB period in early April. RWs that are in the high risk zone for COVID-19 or the red zone will be restricted by reducing entry.
"There are less doorways, there are guards, there are portals. Then various facilities are prepared, sinks, hand sanitizers, soap, and disinfectants are also carried out in the villages," said Riza.
Access in and out of residents is not completely closed. However, the DKI Provincial Government has distributed social assistance containing basic necessities. "There are data on the people who are in need, sent social assistance," he said.
"So, in principle we support the president's direction. In fact, we have implemented it according to the president's directive policy," added Riza.
Previously, President Jokowi said the implementation of the PSBM or what he called at the meeting as a mini lockdown was more effective. Because, he considered, PSBB covering one province and district, he considered could harm many parties.
"Do not let us generalize one city or one regency, let alone a province, this will be detrimental to many people," he said.
"This means that micro-scale restrictions at the village level, at the village level, at the RW, RT or office or at the Islamic boarding school, I think are more effective. The repeated mini lockdown will be more effective," Jokowi concluded.
