Woman Killer In Asahan Sumut Arrested, Admits Not Happy To See Victim Sitting Together With Her Father In A Warung

MEDAN - Police uncovered the murder of a housewife named Orlide Boru Nababan in Bandar Pasir Mandoge District, Asahan Regency, North Sumatra. The police arrested the perpetrator named Edy Suryanto Gultom alias Omat (24).

The Asahan Police Chief, AKBP Putu Yudha Prawira explained the motive for the perpetrator to kill the victim. The incident began when the perpetrator saw the victim sitting with her father in a shop, Wednesday, March 30, evening.

"Seeing this, the perpetrator was not happy and felt emotional. The perpetrator intended to kill the victim," said AKBP Putu, Friday, April 1.

Then, when he arrived at his house at 24.00 WIB, the perpetrator's intention to kill the victim was getting stronger. At around 02.30 WIB, the perpetrator riding a motorbike belonging to a friend who was staying at his house came to the victim's house with a machete.

AKBP Putu explained that after arriving near the victim's house, the perpetrator then parked his motorbike under a palm tree which was about 3 meters from the victim's house.

"Then the perpetrator got down and walked to the victim's house. After being in front of the victim's house, the perpetrator then looked for a way to enter the victim's house," said AKBP Putu.

At that time, the perpetrator saw that one of the front windows of the victim's house had come off. Seeing this, the perpetrator entered the victim's house through the window.

"At that time the situation in the victim's house was dark and he immediately went to the front room and tried to push the room but couldn't open it," he said.

"Then the perpetrator tried to push the other room, but it was locked. So the perpetrator forced the front room to open," continued AKBP Putu.

At that time, it turned out that the sound of pushing the room was heard by the victim who was sleeping. As a result, the victim woke up and turned on the light while asking who had entered.

"The perpetrator who heard the sound immediately approached the door of the room and immediately stabbed the machete he was holding into the victim's chest 3 times. Then he slashed the machete at the victim repeatedly so that the victim was seriously injured," he said.

Unable to bear the pain, the victim screamed until the perpetrator heard a scream next to the victim's room. According to the perpetrator, it was the voice of the victim's child.

"After that, the perpetrator immediately fled through the front window which was the entrance of the perpetrator," said AKBP Putu.

The perpetrator then threw the machete that the perpetrator used in the oil palm plantation. Then the perpetrator went home to get clothes and then went to Kualanamu Airport to escape to Makassar City.

The police, who received information about the murder, immediately began to hunt for the perpetrators. The perpetrator, he said, was arrested while riding a rickshaw to Kualanamu Airport.

"Furthermore, the perpetrators along with the evidence were brought to the Asahan Police for further examination for processing. For his actions, the perpetrators were suspected of Article 340, subsidiary to Article 338 of the Criminal Code," explained the Asahan Police Chief.
