Papuan Police Chief Angry KKB Burns Outback School

JAYAPURA - Papuan Police Chief Inspector General Mathius Fakhiri is concerned about the burning of a school building by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB).

The KKB action that continues to burn down the school building makes no sense because it will have an impact on children's education.

"How can the younger generation of Papua be advanced and intelligent if school buildings are burned and their teachers are persecuted," said the Papuan Police Chief, quoted by Antara, Friday, April 1.

According to him, all parties, including KKB, still maintain the buildings, both school buildings and health facilities.

By going to school, the children will be able to read and write and will be able to continue their education to a higher level.

"But if buildings are burned and teachers are persecuted, there will be a setback in the field of education," said the Papuan Police Chief.

Orjen Fakhiri hopes that KKB or any other group will no longer burn public facilities so that children can go to school and those who are sick can seek treatment at the puskesmas or other health facilities.

"Let us all take care of all educational and health facilities, so that children can get an education like children in other areas," he said.

The KKB led by Undius Kogoya and Aibon Kogoya, Wednesday (30/3) burned the one-roof elementary-junior high school building in Hipadipa, Intan Jaya Regency and also persecuted residents, one of whom was a teacher.
