MADIUN - The Madiun City Resort Police (Polres) destroyed 2,217 liters of "jowo wine" and 172 bottles of various brands of alcoholic beverages that became evidence in the case.
Madiun Police Chief, AKBP Suryono, said the liquor was evidence of the operation of creating conditions (cipkon) for maintaining public security and order (harkamtibmas) in the jurisdiction of the Madiun City Police before the fasting month or Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1443 Hijri.
"We urge the whole community, we both rejoice in welcoming the month of Ramadan with pleasure. But don't let our pleasure be too much, especially drinking alcohol which can disturb other Muslims," said AKBP Suryono, quoted by Antara, Friday, April 1st.
In addition to thousands of liquor, his party also destroyed dozens of non-standard exhausts or "brong" exhausts resulting from raids conducted in the last few days.
"The number of non-standard exhausts or the destroyed Brongs reached 75. Entering the fasting month, let's prevent drinking and maintain a conducive situation by not using Brong exhausts," he said.
Deputy Mayor of Madiun Inda Raya appreciated the quick action of the police to carry out the cipkon operation by confiscating a number of evidences of alcoholic beverages including Brong exhaust, which the public often complains about because of the noise.
By destroying a number of evidences, he hopes there will be a deterrent effect for violators, as well as providing education to the public to do positive things.
"Anything that is done when it is not in accordance with the rules, will definitely be dealt with by the Police and will be punished or sanctioned according to the applicable law. So we are trying to synergize with the TNI and Polri to provide comfort to the community in carrying out this fast," said the Deputy Guardian. Inda Raya City.
He asked that during this Ramadan, the whole community respects and respects each other. In addition, the public is advised to stop activities that violate the rules, religious norms, and other norms that apply in the community and create a conducive situation so that fasting worship runs smoothly and safely.
