To Speed Up The Investigation, The Police Will Immediately Determine The Fire Suspect In The AGO Building

JAKARTA - The National Police held an analysis and evaluation (ANEV) meeting to speed up the investigation process in the fire case of the Attorney General's Office (AGO) building. In the near future, investigators will determine the suspect.

"Investigators have carried out an examination evaluation to accelerate the investigation into the AGO fire case in order to determine the suspect," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Awi Setiyono to reporters, Tuesday, September 29.

Currently, the investigation team is still completing the administrative requirements in the investigation resume. Later, the investigation file will be exposed with the public prosecutor (JPU), on Wednesday, September 30.

To complement this, the investigators also conducted another examination of 12 witnesses. They are internal security (Kamdal), Cleaning Service, Civil Servants, Drivers, Damkar and expert witnesses from PUPR.

"The presentation material is related to the plan of a case title with the prosecutor (P-16) in order to carry out a joint exposure," said Awi.

Meanwhile, in a series of examinations, investigators have examined 42 witnesses. They come from the private sector to the AGO.

About 12 witnesses were questioned on Monday, 21 September. The witnesses included maids, masons and cleaning services. Then, investigators again examined 17 witnesses on Tuesday, September 22. They are staff of the Attorney General's Office, internal security (kamdal) of the Attorney General's Office, to civil servants (PNS).

Furthermore, 13 witnesses were questioned on Thursday, 24 September 2020. They were legal experts until the fire. The Adhyaksa Corps building caught fire on Saturday, August 22 at 19.10 WIB. The fire lasted almost 12 hours.
