JAKARTA - Milan Fashion Week 2020 is an event for Janice and Benita to showcase their works as designers. The two Indonesian daughters presented 10 collections of acculturation results from Indonesian and European cultures on Saturday, September 26 in Milan, Italy. Slowly but surely, the work of these brothers began to be recognized by the world.

As the sole delegation from Indonesia, Janice and Benita carried the theme "pilgrimage" which has the meaning of pilgrimage and is related to the traces of ancestral journeys. According to them, during the life of their ancestors, everything was still natural and harmonious, so that various cultural elements could still be united without losing their respective personalities.

The Indonesian culture that they adopt is the batik element that is inscribed in each of their works. Pekalongan batik motifs seem to dominate the collection this time. Janice and Benita, who are also Creative Directors of Maquinn Couture, said they wanted to take batik a step further by making it blend with today's modern culture.

This was conveyed by Janice Pradipta Setyawan during the press conference of Maquinn Couture to Milan Fashion Week 20/21 which was held virtually last Saturday. Esti Andayani, the Indonesian Ambassador to Italy who was in Rome at that time also attended the event. Esti expressed her appreciation for Janice and Benita's efforts to bring Indonesian culture to the international market.
