There Are Many Harms Rather Than Benefits, Polda Metro Asks Residents To Stop Sahur On The Road During Ramadan

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya appealed to the public not to hold sahur on the road (SOTR) during Ramadan. This is because this activity has little benefit and even has the potential to spread COVID-19.

"We think this SOTR has more harm (losses, ed) from this activity," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes E. Zulpan to reporters, Thursday, March 31.

In addition to appealing, Polda Metro Jaya will also filter a number of sections related to the SORT event. In the process, the police will take persuasive action.

"If later there are people who commit violations, there will be persuasive action. We do not expect repressive actions," said Zulpan.

On the other hand, thousands of joint TNI-Polri personnel and local governments are deployed in a filtering scheme during Ramadan.

"2375 personnel were deployed for security, especially in the month of Ramadan," said Zulpan.
