Sumedang Police Chief Confirms Strict Actions By Police Who Beat Metro TV Journalists During Football Matches
SUMEDANG - Sumedang Police Chief AKBP Eko Prasetyo Robbyanto said that the police who beat the Metro TV journalist Husni Nursyaf will be dealt with immediately.
"Sanctions will be given to the members who carried out the beatings," said the Police Chief after visiting the victims of the beatings at the Sumedang Hospital as reported by Antara, Tuesday, March 29.
It is certain that the police chief will receive strict sanctions according to the police's code of ethics and the person concerned has undergone an examination.
"Starting tonight, the investigation will be carried out in accordance with the provisions of the police code of ethics," he said.
The police chief apologized to the victim who is currently undergoing medical treatment at the hospital.
"The Sumedang Resort Police apologizes for this incident," he said.
The violence occurred during a soccer match between the Sumedang BPBD and the Sumedang Police combined which is usually held regularly at the Ahmad Yani field, North Sumedang District.
Husni, who was playing soccer at the time, had an argument after blocking the ball brought by players from the Sumedang Police Team.
After the incident, a spectator who is also a member of the police entered the field and immediately beat Husni, causing injuries.
The incident was immediately resolved, then the victim of the beating was immediately taken to the hospital due to serious injuries.
