Sued By Tommy Soeharto, Yasonna: No Problem, I Am Ready To Face It

JAKARTA - The Minister of Law and Human Rights (Menkumham) Yasonna Laoly is ready to face the lawsuit of the son of the 2nd President of the Republic of Indonesia, Hutomo Mandala Putra or Tommy Soeharto at the State Administrative Court (PTUN). This lawsuit was filed after Yasonna endorsed the management of the Working Party DPP for the 2020-2025 period led by Muchdi Purwoprajono or who is usually called Muchdi PR.

"There is no problem. I am ready to face the lawsuit and will follow all applicable legal procedures," said Yasonna in a written statement, Monday, September 28.

According to him, the legal steps taken by Tommy were right to solve the existing problem. He also emphasized that his party would respect all applicable legal processes.

Regarding his decision to approve the leadership of the Berkarya Party DPP under Muchdi Pr's leadership, it is also correct. This is because the decision was taken according to the applicable rules and procedures.

"The decision to validate the leadership of the Berkarya Party DPP was taken in accordance with the procedures and rules. But yes, that was before, go ahead if anyone is not satisfied and take legal steps related to the decision," he said.

"I certainly respect this legal step. Since the beginning I have said that please just be tested at the PTUN if there are objections," he added.

Previously, quoted from the Jakarta State Administrative Court (PTUN) SIPP, Tommy Soeharto's lawsuit was filed on Monday, September 21. The Defendant is the Minister of Law and Human Rights.

In his lawsuit, Tommy Soeharto asked the Jakarta State Administrative Court to declare null and void the decision of the Minister of Law and Human Rights Number M.HH-16.01 of 2020 concerning Ratification of Amendments to the Party's Articles of Association and Bylaws dated 30 July 2020 and Decree of the Menkum HAM Number M.HH -17.AH.11.01 Year 2020 concerning Ratification of Changes in the Composition of the Working Party Central Executive Board for the period 2020-2025 dated July 30, 2020.

Second, Tommy Soeharto through Isnaldi's attorney asked the PTUN to oblige the defendant to revoke two decrees of the Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna Laoly regarding the ratification of changes to the articles of association and ratification of changes in the composition of the Berkarya DPP management.

"Require the defendant to rehabilitate the position, dignity and dignity of the Plaintiff as before," said another lawsuit filed by Tommy Soeharto.
