The Fate Of JPO Jalan S Parman, It's Dull Now Many Iron Handles Are Missing, Residents: Afraid To Fall Down
JAKARTA - The West Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-department (Sudin) moved quickly to immediately repair some of the missing iron railings on the pedestrian bridge (JPO) Jalan S Parman, in front of the West Jakarta District Court.
"We will deal with it temporarily so as not to endanger the local residents," said West Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-department Head, Darwin Ali, when confirmed in Jakarta, Tuesday, March 29, quoted by Antara.
Currently, some of the iron railings on the sides of the bridge, which have holes due to missing iron, have been lined with yellow lines.
From Antara's observation, there were 10 points on the JPO's iron handle with holes because the iron was gone.
You can also see black weld marks on each end of the cut iron.
Furthermore, Darwin will inspect the site to determine which parts are hollow.
After the inspection, his party will report the findings to the DKI Jakarta Bina Marga Office because the realm of handling the bridge is at the provincial level.
At the same time, the Head of the Road Bridge and Road Completeness Section of the West Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-dept., Benny Situmorang, also said the same thing.
He admitted that he had reported this finding to the Highways Service.
"It will be handled by the Bina Marga Service. Whether there will be a tender for repairs or not, depends on the service," he explained.
Previously, residents were worried about the loss of iron grips at some of the JPO points. One of those who complained about this was Shawwal (50).
He admitted that he was worried when crossing the bridge because some of the iron handles had disappeared.
"Sometimes I'm just afraid, there's no iron. So, if you can't see it at night and the handle isn't there, I'm afraid of falling down," he said.
Regina (25) said the same thing. Apart from the fear of falling, Regina felt that the appearance of JPO Jalan S Parman was becoming less attractive.
"It's dull and the iron is missing again. It's just not good to see. So, it's scary to go through here," he said.
