Pre-trial Session, Inspector General Napoleon Asks The Judge To Order SP3 Investigators For The Red Notice Case

JAKARTA - The South Jakarta District Court held a trial for a pretrial lawsuit filed by Inspector General Napoleon Bonaparte for the determination of the suspect in the alleged bribery case for the removal of red notice Joko Tjandra.

In the trial with the agenda of reading the petition which took place on Monday, September 28, Inspector General Napoleon asked the panel of judges to decide that the suspect's determination against him was invalid and null and void.

Attorney General Napoleon, Putri Maya Rumanti, said the defendant's determination of the suspect, namely Bareskrim Polri, was not based on sufficient evidence. So, it is considered necessary to be tested further on this matter.

"The Petitioner also believes that until now investigators do not have evidence of bribery as is suspected in the criminal articles that are included in the investigation warrant," Putri said at the hearing, Monday, September 28.

In addition, Putri said, her client did not receive bribes or promises from anyone regarding the removal of red notices . For this reason, his client decided to file a pretrial lawsuit.

"The Petitioners have never received bribes or promises of any kind related to red notice on behalf of Joko S Tjandra," he said.

Meanwhile, based on the petitum of his lawsuit, Inspector General Napoleon asked the panel of judges to order the defendant to publish a letter of terminating his investigation.

"Ordered the Respondent / Investigator to the Police Report Number: LP / A / 0430 / VIII 2020 dated 5 August 2020 to issue a letter of terminating case investigation on behalf of Inspector General of Police Napoleon Bonaprte," he said.

In this case, Inspector General Napoleon Bonaparte was named a suspect suspected of being the recipient of bribes. He was charged with Article 5 Paragraph 2, Article 11 and Article 12 letters a and b of Law Number 20 of 2020 concerning Corruption (Tipikor) in conjunction with Article 55 of the Criminal Code.
