Sri Mulyani Boncos! Only Two Months Of Energy Subsidies Have Spent IDR 21 Trillion, Even Though In 2021 It Will Only Be IDR 12 Trillion

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani reported that the value of energy subsidies issued by the government until February 2022 reached a value of Rp. 21.7 trillion. According to him, this amount rose quite significantly because it was influenced by the increase in global energy commodity prices.

"The realization of the budget distributed to non-ministerials and non-institutions in the form of subsidies for fuel, LPG and electricity amounted to Rp. 21.7 trillion," he said when meeting the media crew through online channels in our State Budget presentation, Monday, March 29.

According to the Minister of Finance, the soaring value of subsidies at the beginning of this year did not escape the underpayment for the 2021 period, which amounted to Rp. 10.17 trillion and was charged in 2022.

Meanwhile, the realization of energy subsidy payments in 2021 is IDR 12.2 trillion and in 2020 it is IDR 10.8 trillion.

"Energy subsidies are also affected by the increase in the use of fuel and LPG along with the increase in community activities," he said.

In detail, the Minister of Finance explained that the realization of the use of subsidized fuel until January 2022 was 1.39 million kilo liters or grew from 2021 which was recorded at 1.18 million kilo liters.

Meanwhile, for subsidized 3 Kg LPG, it will be 632.7 million Kg in 2022 from the previous 603.2 million Kg in January 2021.

As for electricity, 38.2 million customers were said to have enjoyed it in the first month of this year compared to 37.2 customers in the same period in 2021.

"So we see, the current state budget is under pressure, not only on the health side, but also on goods consumed by the public, which have actually experienced price increases but have not made any changes," said Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani.
