TikTok Will Have A Watch History Feature Like YouTube

JAKARTA - Like YouTube, TikTok will soon have a watch history feature. The feature is currently in the pilot phase with a select few users.

First reported by Hammod Oh, a Twitter user best known for revealing a new feature of social media, the watch history feature allows TikTok users to find previously watched videos on the For You page.

With this feature, of course it will be useful for users. The reason is, the amount of new content that continues to exist will accidentally be missed before the user likes the video or wants to remove it from the like button.

Launching Engadget, Tuesday, March 29, users caught undergoing beta testing will find this feature in the content and activity section of the app settings.

While this is a long-awaited feature for many users, some have come across a workaround beforehand to view their watch history.

However, they are not easy to use or access. Users need to go to the Discover page, tap on search, enter an asterisk and then toggle on the watch video option in the search filter tab.

On the other hand, if there is a watch history feature, it will be easier to access directly from the application settings menu. Unfortunately, there is no further information regarding this feature, and it is not known when TikTok will launch it globally.

Other platforms such as YouTube and Facebook have already installed similar watch history features. However, another social media giant, Instagram, which owns Reels, has yet to set up a watch history feature on its own platform.
