Meeting The Deputy Minister Of Foreign Affairs Of Ukraine In Doha, Foreign Minister Retno Opens The Opportunity For RI To Send Humanitarian Aid
JAKARTA - Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Emine Dzhaparova on the sidelines of his activities in Doha, Qatar. Retno discussed the humanitarian situation in Ukraine.
"The focus of the discussion is more on the humanitarian situation in Ukraine which is very worrying. If the war continues, it is certain that the humanitarian situation will get worse," said Retno in a press briefing that was followed from Jakarta, Monday, March 28.
Retno said, given the urgent humanitarian condition, Indonesia would positively consider providing humanitarian assistance to the Ukrainian people.
According to Retno, the Ukraine issue has also become a prominent issue in the Doha Forum activities in Qatar. These concerns include deep concern over the impact of the war on humanitarian conditions in Ukraine.
Retno also held consultations on the preparation of the G20 Summit with a number of G20 member countries attending the Doha Forum, namely the European Union Foreign Minister, Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister, and the Mexican Foreign Minister.
"Indonesia as the President of the G20 continues to conduct consultations with all member countries of the G20. This consultation is not only carried out at the presidential level, but also at the foreign minister, finance minister, and up to the sherpa and deputy levels," explained Retno as quoted from Antara.
Retno continued that everyone understands that the situation in Ukraine has a very big impact on all countries, for all activities carried out by all world countries, including the G20.
"Therefore, the G20 Presidency continues to conduct consultations, listen to all views and suggestions, while continuing to remind the world's hopes for the G20, which wants the G20 to be a catalyst for the recovery of the pandemic and economic recovery," said Retno.
