Korlantas Implements ETLE On Trans Java And Sumatra Toll Roads As Of April
JAKARTA - The Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the Police has begun to implement the application of electronic traffic law enforcement (ETLE) on the Transjawa Toll Road and Transsumatera Toll Road as of April 2022.
Dirgakkum Korlantas Polri Brigadier General Aan Suhanan said that the socialization had started in early March 2022. He said there were two types of violations, namely overload and overspeed.
"The first is the overload violation on the Transjabar toll road, then the second is the overspeed violation on the Transjawa and Transsumatera toll roads," said Aan, quoted by Antara, Monday, March 28.
Dirgakkum Aan said starting Friday (1/4) as many as 244 Precision National ETLE cameras will be implemented. The mechanism of action that will be implemented by the Korlantas Polri.
"So, after the violation has been captured, overload or overspeed, it will enter the Korlantas back office. From the back office it is processed, validated, verified. After verification, it is appropriate to send a confirmation letter physically or via the existing web," explained Aan .
Brigadier General Aan said that people who have downloaded the website about ETLE will be notified if they commit a violation. If not, according to him, a confirmation letter regarding the violation will be sent to the address of the vehicle.
"After confirmation, the next obligation is to pay a ticket fine. The maximum fine that has been determined is through the Briva account," he said.
Aan hopes that ETLE can help the police enforce traffic laws. In addition, the application of ETLE is also an accident prevention effort.
"There were no fatalities by committing overload or overspeed violations. Because of our existing data, 80 percent of overspeed and overload resulted in high accident fatalities," said Aan.
Aan appealed to the public not to commit overload or overspeed violations because the fatalities were high.
