DBS Collaborates With Mastercard To Launch Digital Credit Card Digibank Black
JAKARTA - Bank DBS Indonesia in collaboration with Mastercard launched the digibank Black Digital Credit Card.
Rudy Tandjung, Consumer Banking Director of PT Bank DBS Indonesia said this is in line with the increasing trend of buy now, pay later (BNPL) and continue to innovate DBS digital credit cards which can give approval in 60 seconds.
"After approval and fingerprint verification, customers can immediately get digital credit card information on the digibank by DBS application and can directly use their credit card for transactions," he said in his statement to VOI, Monday, March 28.
Rudy explained, the trend of BNPL in Indonesia is predicted to grow to 72.8 percent by the end of 2021 and will increase in 2022. Along with the desire to improve the quality of life after the pandemic, the current use of BNPL is no longer only in meeting primary needs.
"Along with the increasing need for instant and easy banking services, Bank DBS Indonesia has consistently complemented our digital banking services," added Rudy.
The improvement of lifestyle using BNPL alternatives is inseparable from the role of digital banking which also supports the convenience of daily customer transactions, especially during the pandemic.
This is in line with Bank Indonesia data which recorded an increase in the value of digital banking transactions by 47.08 percent on an annual basis (year on year) to IDR 3,877.3 trillion in November 2021.
In addition, Bank DBS Indonesia sees a shift from customer shopping behavior to online throughout 2021. This is proven based on DBS internal data which found that the most widely used transaction category today is transactions at online merchants, such as e-commerce.
Rudy explained, the digibank Black digital credit card offers a 0 percent BNPL feature with a payment tenor of three months for all retail transactions anywhere.
"It is enough to access the digibank by DBS application after making a transaction to convert the transaction into installments," he said.
Second, this credit card also has broad merchant acceptance, this product can be used domestically and abroad, offline or online.
Another advantage for customers is getting five times reward points for transactions at supermarket merchants and gas stations.
"Finally, the rewards points earned by customers can be exchanged for shopping vouchers, airlines mileage, cashback, and others through the digibank by DBS application," concluded Rudy.
