Sandiaga Uno Appoints West Sumatra To Host The World Islamic Trade Forum
JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno has designated West Sumatra as the host of the World Islamic Trade Forum in 2023. This step was taken to support tourism and the creative economy in West Sumatra.
"We just announced, at the request of the Head of BPPD, that we will initiate a World Islamic Trade Forum, because it is in line with several activities in 2023, which will also ensure the rendang supply chain that we are pushing for rendang goes to the world, as part of Indonesian Spice Up to The world that we have launched in Bali," said Sandiaga Uno in his statement, Monday, March 28.
According to Sandiaga, the rise of the creative economy is now in sight
"I have reported to the governor, all flights were full here, and there was some density of visitors. This is a really good moment for us to rise up to open up the widest possible employment opportunities, followed by the new economic order," he said.
Sandiaga Uno hopes that the inaugurated West Sumatra BPPD team will implement 3G, fast action (gercep), joint movement (geber) and gaspol.
"Congratulations to the determining elements of the West Sumatra BPPD. The team must be fast, aggressive and gaspol. Tourism and the creative economy in the future will be even more different. It must have an impact on the local economy and there should be no more crowds that only leave trash, it must be better," he said.
"This is extraordinary, keep it up. The strategic dynamic content and value added must be improved. Rendang is one of the culinary delights that we will develop in the context of the spice of the world. And we have started in the G20 in Bali. For this rendang, West Sumatra must master the spice supply chain so that it can open up business opportunities and job opportunities," he added.
"We are given a big event, this will be our priority to make this event a success. Thus, later it will encourage the image of tourism and introduce the tourism potential of West Sumatra," said Sari.
According to Sari, BPPD will conduct tourism promotion which is part of marketing. "We will continue to strive to increase foreign tourist arrivals to the West Sumatra area," he concluded.
