Terawan Fires, NasDem Legislator Suggests DPR Summon IDI
JAKARTA - Member of Commission IX of the DPR RI, the NasDem Fraction, Irma Suryani Chaniago, proposed that his commission summon the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) as a result of the dismissal of former Health Minister Terawan Agus Putranto from the organization's membership.
"I have suggested that Commission IX summon IDI to be held accountable for the dismissal," said Irma when contacted, Sunday, March 27. Irma assessed that IDI's decision to permanently dismiss Terawan was arrogant, exclusive, and elitist.
Irma also highlighted the competency test for young doctors which is still relatively difficult at this time.
"Indonesia still needs a lot of doctors but let's see how difficult it is for young doctors who want to work due to the difficulty of competency tests. If I'm not mistaken there are 2,500 people," he continued. According to Irma, IDI could not handle the fate of these young doctors. But instead he decided to fire Dr. Terawan, who was already a senior and experienced.
"It's useless for young doctors to want to fire doctors who are experienced and qualified like Dr. Terawan," he said. Irma emphasized that IDI should be able to fight for trivial things and not fire qualified doctors. want to serve the country instead of being left unemployed," he said
