Buried At A Depth Of 1.5 Meters From The Subsoil In Guangxi, China Eastern's Second Black Box Found
JAKARTA - The investigation into the crash of the China Eastern Airlines plane that crashed in the hills of the Guangxi Autonomous Region continues. This time, the rescue team found the second black box.
This black box was found at the scene of the incident on Sunday morning, according to the China National Emergency Response Center, quoted by Antara, Sunday, March 27.
The second black box was found buried at a depth of 1.5 meters in the hills of Tengxian County, Guangxi.
The Boeing 737-800 belonging to China Eastern Airlines crashed vertically from a height of nearly 9,000 meters and plunged into hilly ground in southern China on Monday, March 21.
The domestic passenger plane flight number MU-5737 crashed en route from Kunming, Yunnan Province, to Guangzhou, Guangdong Province.
The first black box was recovered by officers on the evening of Wednesday 23 March and has been sent to Beijing for further study.
The two black boxes contain the latest flight data and recorded conversations in the cockpit.
The recorded data will reveal the cause of the worst air crash in China in the last 12 years.
Meanwhile, local authorities on Saturday (26/3) night officially announced that 132 people on the plane, consisting of 123 passengers and nine crew, were declared dead.
