DPR Regrets Terawan Was Dismissed From IDI, Asks For Reconsideration Of Dismissal
JAKARTA - The decision of the Honorary Council of Medical Ethics (MKEK) of the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) which dismissed dr. Terawan Agus Putranto permanently as a member of IDI was regretted by the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR).
Based on information circulating, Dr Terawan was fired due to treatment with the 'brainwashing' method using the Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) tool in the treatment of stroke and the Nusantara vaccine in the prevention of COVID-19.

Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad asked the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) to take action on Terawan's dismissal as a member of IDI by the organization's MKEK. Dasco also urged revisions to the Medical Practice Act and the Medical Education Act.
Dasco asked the Ministry of Health to review the dismissal recommendations issued by MKEK IDI, especially from the legal and statutory aspects. Similar to the leadership of the DPR, the Deputy Chair of Commission IX of the DPR, Melkiades Laka Lena also regrets the dismissal of Terawan from the IDI membership. According to him, there must be a way out of IDI other than Terawan's dismissal, so it is necessary to find the best solution.
