Wow! Vaccine Stocks In Bekasi Are Getting Thinner And Are In Danger Of Expiry!

BEKASI - The Bekasi Regency Government, West Java, stated that the supply of booster vaccines (booster) in its area was running low, leaving only 6,380 doses of AstraZeneca in stock, which will expire on April 1, 2022.

"The stock of Pfizer and Moderna vaccines has run out. The same goes for the Sinopharm brand. Only AstraZeneca remains, as of April 1 tomorrow it will also expire," said Deputy Spokesperson for the Bekasi District COVID-19 Handling Task Force, Masrikoh, as reported by Antara, Saturday, March 26.

Because it will expire in the next few days, according to Masrikoh, his party is now continuing to intensify booster dose vaccination activities so that the community can use it as much as possible before the expiration date arrives.

The Bekasi Regency Government responded to the limited stock of the booster vaccine by proposing an additional allocation to the West Java Provincial Government and the Ministry of Health.

"We have sent a letter to the West Java Provincial Government and the Ministry of Health. This booster vaccine is important, especially as one of the requirements for Lebaran travelers, including residents of Bekasi Regency," said Masrikoh.

He suspects that the delivery process to the city and regency areas requires a relatively long process, including taking care of all administration.

The Bekasi Regency Government still has stocks of other vaccine brands, namely Sinovac as many as 35,020 doses and 40,700 doses of Covovac vaccine, which will expire on March 31, 2022.

"Hopefully we can get the distribution of vaccines, especially for boosters, so that the vaccination can be maximized so that residents meet the requirements for traveling back and forth for Lebaran," said Masrikoh.
