Naughty Distributor Appears In Gibran City, Sells Packaged Cooking Oil, City Government Prepares Report Option To KPPU

SOLO - Solo City Government will take firm action against rogue distributors caught cheating consumers, including selling goods on conditions.

Head of the Solo City Trade Service Heru Sunardi said that one of the options chosen if there was fraud committed by wholesalers was to report to the Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU).

Including the latest incident, namely the distributor of bulk cooking oil in the Pasar Legi Solo area which requires consumers to buy the commodity with a package system.

"That's not allowed, I've given a warning. Moreover, they are wholesalers, sellers are not allowed to do so," he said in Solo, Antara, Friday, March 25.

If a distributor is found who is determined to sell on conditions, the Trade Office will report it to KPPU. "We'll just report it, so we can take action," he said.

Meanwhile, the Department of Trade is currently planning to provide flexible access for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to obtain bulk cooking oil.

"In principle, if conditions remain as they are, there will probably be market operations," he said.

Previously, the Mayor of Solo, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, promised to review the field regarding reports of fraudulent traders. He will also coordinate with the Food Task Force and the Surakarta Police.
