These Are The OTG Requirements For COVID-19 Isolation In Jakarta Hotels

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Health Office has started opening hotels to place people with COVID-19 without symptoms (OTG) to be isolated in hotels facilitated by the government.

"In the process, several (hotels) are already running. We are continuing to add," Head of DKI Jakarta Health Service Widyastuti said in a BNPB discussion quoted by VOI on Friday, September 25.

According to Widyastuti, the objective of placing the OTG COVID-19 isolation has two objectives, namely preventing transmission of the virus to the families of people who have been confirmed positive and driving the economy in the hotel sector.

The requirements for OTG patients to be isolated in 2 and 3 star hotels are the same as the isolation procedure at Wisma Atlet Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

"For hotels provided by the government, of course the procedure is the same. Because basically, this is the development of an independent isolation flat at Wisma Atlet," said Widyastuti.

First, people who want to be isolated in a hotel must have a letter stating that they are positive for COVID-19.

They must also have a referral letter from the local puskesmas. This requirement will facilitate coordination in data collection on which isolation bed capacities are available.

Then, it is necessary to show a certificate from the puskesmas stating that the patient is unable to carry out independent isolation at home.

In addition, OTG cases that will be isolated in hotels are patients who are able to carry out daily activities without the help of other people.

Widyastuti continued, his party is also coordinating with the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) to provide isolation facilities in paid hotels.

"There are also hotels that pay, because the residents' ability is very heterogeneous. Some are capable, some are lacking.

For those who pay, we coordinate with PHRI to provide supplies. So, residents can choose where to isolate them, "he explained.

The central government is working with the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) to prepare the hotel as a place for isolation of COVID-19 patients without symptoms and mild symptoms.

Until now, there are 30 hotels in DKI Jakarta that are ready to work together. Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Wishnutama Kusubandio explained that there are various facilities that will be accepted by the public as well as medical personnel who are isolated in hotels.

For health management, the Ministry of Health will place medical personnel to monitor the implementation of health protocols in each hotel.

"Medical personnel also monitor the progress of patients who are undergoing isolation, including providing supporting facilities and infrastructure such as drugs, ambulances, and others," Wishnutama said.

In addition to health facilities, there are also accommodation facilities prepared for the community to undergo 14 days of isolation at the hotel.

"Kemenparekraf prepares a budget of Rp. 100 billion to prepare accommodation equivalent to a 3-star hotel, including daily eating, drinking and laundry facilities for COVID-19 patients," he said.
