Attorney General's Office Explains Officers Who 'Escort' Cleaning Service With Accounts Of Rp100 Million When Inspected
JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) has responded to the emergence of allegations about cleaning services that have received special treatment because they are always accompanied when undergoing examination as a witness.
Head of the Attorney General's Office of Legal Information, Hari Setiyono, said the figure referred to as accompanying was a member of Organizational Resource Security (PAM SDO).
"We have the Security of Organizational Resources in the Intelligence Sector which is always on duty for security in accordance with the leadership's order," Hari told VOI, Friday, September 25.
However, Hari denied that it was called mentoring. Because, he said, it would be more accurate to call it security. In addition, a form of security is carried out so that the inspection process runs smoothly.
"Not being accompanied, PAM SDO is limited in terms of security according to orders. The definition of (security) is broad in the sense of security so that it runs smoothly," he said.
However, Hari did not answer when asked that the figure of the companion was a subordinate of the former Deputy Attorney General.
Previously, the Deputy Attorney General for General Crimes (Jampidum) at the AGO, Fadil Zumhana said that assistance in investigations was carried out only to speed up the process of handling cases. This is also called as part of the coordination between the AGO and Bareskrim Polri.
"This is part of coordination in the case handling process and to speed up the process," said Fadil to VOI, Friday, September 25.
Besides that, said Fadil, assistance during the examination of witnesses was also in accordance with the rules. Because the investigation puts forward the principles of justice.
"In accordance with the principle of fast, simple and low cost trial, it is regulated in the Criminal Procedure Code," he said.
Information about assistance emerged during a working meeting between the DPR and the Attorney General's Office on Thursday, September 24.
Member of Commission III of the DPR Arteria Dahlan asked the Attorney General ST Burhanuddin regarding the accuracy of the information. Because in addition to receiving assistance, the witness also had hundreds of millions of rupiah in his account.
"Is it true that the money account checks for over one hundred million is a cleaning service. Is it true that he was examined accompanied by his former JAM subordinates," said Arteria.
In a virtual meeting, Fadil said, the cleaning service witness was examined several times with a lie detector machine to reveal what was actually known and done.
"Regarding other roles, if there will be any later, we will not cover up. We will dismantle whoever the perpetrators, both internally and contractors, are involved here," said Fadil.
However, Fadil's answer did not satisfy Arteria. The PDIP politician then searched for Fadil regarding the hundreds of millions of rupiah banknotes and access to the sixth floor of the Main Office of the Attorney General's Office, which was known to be the floor of the fire.
Responding to this, Fadil only explained that the cleaning service does have access to the sixth floor, even though it is on the lower floor. He added that investigators are still looking into why they have access and also money with a large enough value.
"There is access to the sixth floor. During the investigation process, it was reported to the prosecutor whom I appointed but this is in the process of investigating," said Fadil.
"We will understand what money is and where it will come from, because yesterday the investigation process was not yet pro justitia. When this investigation we asked the investigators to reveal where the money came from," he added.
