JAKARTA - Political observer from Political and Public Policy Studies (P3S), Jerry Massie assesses that the Puan Maharani and Anies Baswedan duo have potential if they are side by side in the 2024 Presidential Election contestation (Pilpres).

Jerry responded to Puan Maharani's statement that gave him the opportunity to partner with Anies Baswedan in the 2024 presidential election.

"I think anything can happen in politics. Currently, both parties and presidential candidates are in guerrilla warfare to seek sympathy from the party and the public," said Jerry, Friday, March 25.

The P3S director is of the opinion that Puan-Anies can also be said to be a representative presidential candidate representing gender and male or male presidential candidates. Currently, the party continues to open up and political proposals are being carried out. "I think Anies must find a political vehicle in order to survive because Anies is not the leader of a political party. If Puan-Anies then PDIP-NasDem could become a political marriage. I think the Puan-Anies duo is sufficient. Potentially, the party machine will also determine whether the two can co-exist in the political arena," said Jerry, as quoted by Antara.

According to Jerry, Anies must have an open mind and Puan must be smart in lobbying potential figures in the presidential election. "I think PDIP is starting to be smart in reading the political constellation and is also starting to be sensitive about what opportunities for presidential candidates like Anies. The governor of DKI Jakarta has a chance other than Prabowo Subianto," he said. Besides Anies, you will also collaborate with other potential presidential candidates, such as Ridwan Kamil.
