Techland Considers Dying Light 2's First Story Expansion After Base Game Ends

JAKARTA - Dying Light 2 Stay Human's main game designer, Tymon Smektała, said that the game's first story DLC will be set sideways to the main event.

Launching GamingBolt Friday, March 25, Techland has bigger things in the works for Dying Light 2. Previously Techland has also confirmed that they are working on an expansion.

However, with Dying Light 2 Stay Human ending, a lot of interesting questions have been asked about how the story might continue.

Dying Light 2 designer Tymon Smectala recently spoke to Game Informer. He said that the first expansion of the action RPG will tell a story that is set sideways to the main events of the base game rather than its aftermath.

"The first story DLC we've promised, I've seen a lot of speculation online about what will happen and I can say with confidence that they're not anywhere near the mark," he said.

Smectala adds that his team will actually start adding events at the end of the game. “We have some ideas. On paper, as implemented today, it looks promising, but for sure, it will be a challenge,” he said.

Techland has already said that they plan to support Dying Light 2 with varied and new content for at least the next five years.

Then, recently Techland said that they are seriously considering adding a New Game+ option

Dying Light 2 Stay Human is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and will launch this year as a cloud-exclusive release for the Nintendo Switch.
