Balad Jokowi Welcomes Immanuel Ebenezer's Removal From The Position Of President Commissioner Of A BUMN Subsidiary

JAKARTA - Secretary General of Balad Jokowi, Ma'ruf Muttaqin welcomed the firm step of the Minister of SOEs, Erick Thohir, who had removed Immanuel Ebenezer, familiarly called Noel, from the main commissioner of PT Mega Elektra, a subsidiary of PT Pupuk Indonesia.

According to Ma'ruf, Noel should focus on the SOE's tasks assigned to him rather than dealing with other matters. Moreover, Minister Erick at every opportunity emphasized the importance of fighting radicalism.

"The duties and functions of SOEs are clear, Bung Noel will focus on that. But the Minister of SOEs has taken the right steps, we welcome the decision," said Ma'ruf in a written statement, quoted Thursday, March 24.

Not only that, said Ma'ruf, Minister Erick will also give strict sanctions to his subordinates who are involved in acts of radicalism and terrorism in Indonesia.

Therefore, Ma'ruf appealed to each Commissioner to always increase the spirit of transformation as well as carry out five transformations in BUMN which were Minister Erick's main focus, namely digitalization transformation, renewable energy transformation, transformation in the mining industry, tourism transformation, and food transformation.

It is known that Immanuel Ebenezer was appointed as the President Commissioner of PT Mega Eltra by the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir on June 12, 2021.

PT Mega Eltra is a member of the state-owned holding company, PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero). This company is engaged in trading, construction and agency services, to the paint industry.
