Targeting The TPKS Bill To Be Completed Before The Recess Period, Legislative Council Legislative Assembly: April 5, We Expect It To Be Completed

JAKARTA - The Legislative Body (Baleg) of the DPR RI is targeting the discussion of the Draft Law on the Crime of Sexual Violence (RUU TPKS) to be completed before the recess period. Referring to the work agenda of the DPR, the next recess period will start from April 15 to May 16.

"I would like to convey that hopefully we can pass this bill before the recess period," said DPR Baleg Chair Supratman Andi Agtas during a working meeting with the PPPA Minister at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Thursday, March 24. Based on the schedule that has been prepared, the decision-making meeting for the TPKS Bill will be held on April 5, 2022. He hopes that the discussion of the TPKS Bill will be completed on schedule.

"If I look at the schedule, our committee meeting will start on Monday. And according to the schedule, we will have another working meeting in the context of making the decision on April 5," Supratman explained. We hope that the legislation will be completed, I hope," he continued.

The member of the Gerindra faction said that there are many problem inventory lists (DIM) that must be discussed by the DPR and the government. "If I look at the DIM from the government, there are indeed quite a number of them, both regarding changes in substance and the addition of new content material as conveyed by the Minister," he said. at the next meeting next week.

"However, later we will leave it to our committee members from all factions to convey and discuss. We will discuss with the government again in the upcoming DIM discussion," said Supratman.

One of the agendas for the DPR Baleg meeting with the PPPA Minister is to determine the schedule and mechanism for the meeting to discuss the TPKS Bill. In the meeting, the Legislative Assembly of the DPR and the government agreed on the draft schedule.
