Luhut: Indonesia Can Be Equal To Singapore In This Way
JAKARTA - The government will immediately improve the logistics system in Indonesia. One of them is by making Batu Ampar port in Batam the first green port in Indonesia and implementing a national logistic ecosystem (NLE) system.
The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said that this development was carried out so that Indonesia would not continue to be harassed by neighboring countries, namely Singapore. With the construction of the first green port in Indonesia, said Luhut, Indonesia will slowly be able to be equal to Singapore.
"We also want Batam to be the first example of a green port in Indonesia because we don't have it yet. Tomorrow I also want to see, so that later we can be the same as Singapore. So don't be harassed by Singapore," he said in a video conference, Thursday , 24 September.
Luhut said, Indonesia continues to be harassed by Singapore because of the behavior of its own people who accept bribes or bribes.
In addition, Luhut also wants the loading and unloading process at Batu Ampar Port to be managed in a modern way. The presence of loading and unloading workers (TKBM) is considered no longer needed.
"This loading and unloading date is from the New Order era. In the past, we used carrying transports, now it's not. But it's still there. I saw that at that time there was a disagreement. But now I force it to agree because everything is more modern," he said.
Even though TKBM is deemed no longer needed, Luhut still wants TKBM to be given another job opportunity so as not to lose their livelihood.
"It needs to be accommodated so that they don't lose acceptance," he explained.
In addition, Luhut will also encourage the creation of clean seas and beaches by deploying the maritime security agency (Bakamla) and Sea Transportation to ambush ships that deliberately throw trash into the sea.
"Bakamla ships will catch ships that dump their garbage in the sea when the current flows to us," he said.
Not only that, according to Luhut, his party is curbing the fiberoptic pipeline, because so far it has been messy. He hopes that the work can be completed this year.
"Everything is in the context of efficiency. So we will immediately make this decision to strengthen this country, to be more efficient. I think this country has been inefficient for too long. For too long we have liked to be bribed, which in my opinion makes us a nation that cannot stand upright. face this situation, "he said.
