Even Though It Is In The Cabinet, NasDem Will Be More Critical Than Political Parties Outside The Government
JAKARTA - The NasDem Party faction of the DPR has stated that it will remain critical even though it is in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet. NasDem, will not just follow everything the government wants.
Chairman of the NasDem Party faction in the DPR, Roberth Rouw, said that criticism of the government needs to be carried out for the sake of technical policies that can be implemented. According to him, parliament is the main stage to launch all these criticisms.
Although it will be more critical than the opposition, he said, the faction's support for the government in this second period remains unconditional and without strings attached.
"But that doesn't mean we don't give a critical stance. In fact, we are more critical than colleagues who are not in or not part of the government's support. Because we have an interest that the government has succeeded in carrying out political promises during the first campaign," said Roberth while attending the surgery. the 2021 annual work report entitled "Staying Critical in Critical Times", at the DPR building, Tuesday, March 23.
Roberth admits that executive policies can often be understood by the legislature in general terms. However, he said, the policy was often problematic when it was implemented in the ministry/technical institution.
"The government, the president, make decisions, the policies are macro. These policies need to be translated into tactical steps. These steps are problematic. We have to criticize this," he explained.
Roberth then mentioned the issue of the COVID-19 pandemic, which not only had a serious impact on public health, but also had an impact on various other fields such as the economy, education, and social life of the Indonesian people.
For the NasDem Faction, said Roberth, various problems that have arisen due to the COVID-19 pandemic are challenges that are ready or not ready to be faced as an unavoidable reality.
"One of the steps taken is to adapt to every existing pandemic condition in order to survive and continue to move forward through all these challenges," he explained.
According to Roberth, in facing the pandemic, all elements of the nation are required to continue to raise a high spirit in fighting for life, not only for individuals but also for the survival of the nation and state.
All forms of effort and dedication from the entire community, he added, are part of the collective struggle, by working hand in hand to get through the storm of the pandemic.
"Our common goal and spirit is how to maintain the survival of the community in the face of various difficult conditions due to the pandemic," he said.
