The Pacitan Earthquake Was Felt To Jogja

JAKARTA - An earthquake occurred in Pacitan, East Java. An earthquake measuring 4.7 magnitude was felt as far as Yogyakarta.

Quoted from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), this earthquake occurred at 20:20 WIB. The location of the earthquake with a magnitude of 4.7 was at 8.78 South Latitude, 110.88 East Longitude.

BMKG said the epicenter was at sea, 72 kilometers southwest of Pacitan. The depth of the earthquake was 24 km.

The 4.7 magnitude earthquake in Pcaitan was felt by MMI II-III Bantul, II-III Yogyakarta, II-III Gunung Kidul.

Quoted from the site bmkg.go.id, the MMI I scale means that vibrations are not felt except in extraordinary circumstances by some people. While the MMI II scale shows vibrations felt by several people, light objects are lightly hung.

Meanwhile, the MMI III scale according to BMKG shows that the vibration is felt real in the house.
