Continuation Of The Incident Of The Collapsing Of A Four-Floor Building In Slipi
JAKARTA - It is well known that the cause of the collapse of a four-story building in the Slipi area, West Jakarta. Weathering of the walls is cited as a major factor. Moreover, it was exacerbated by the absence of a drainage channel so that the upper floors of the building were inundated.
To ensure this, the police tried to take information from several parties. One of them is the owner of the building.
Head of West Jakarta Metro Police Reskrim, Kompol Teuku Arsya Khadafi, said that in an effort to find information and clues, currently five people have been asked for information regarding the collapsed incident of the four-story building.
"There are already five people, one of whom is the owner of the building whose statement we are taking," said Arsya when confirmed, Tuesday, January 7.
In addition to examining witnesses who are employees and owners of the building, it is said that currently investigators are still waiting for the results of the TKP processing that has been carried out by Puslabfor Mabes Polri. Later, after all the instructions have been pocketed, a case title will be carried out to determine whether there is any follow-up in the incident.
"The TKP has been processed by the National Police Headquarters Puslabfor. We are currently waiting for the results," said Arsya.
Meanwhile, on a previous occasion, the Operational Director of the National SAR Agency (Basarnas) Brigadier General Budi Purnama said, based on an investigation in several parts of the building, the cause of the collapse of the four-story building was due to weathering.
The suspicion was because there was no water drain on the top floor or roof top. So, every time it rains there will be puddles. Then, the puddle was absorbed by the building wall. Until time passes and it continues to happen over and over again, the building is experiencing weathering.
"(When) this is the rainy season, it (the walls) absorbs too much water. There is no drainage per floor," Budi said in Jakarta, Monday, January 6.
In addition, Basarnas Rescue Team officer Rivan added, with these findings, it is strongly predicted that further collapse will occur if the building is still under rain.
"The building itself is not safe, because in the upper shop there is a pool of water, so there is no access to the water itself," said Rivan, adding that there was water seepage in the building.
"Furthermore, the position of the walls of the building itself has experienced excessive water absorption, so for the 4th and 3rd floor parts of the average ceiling there has been water seepage," he added.
Previously it was reported that a four-story building located on Jalan Brigjen Katamso, Palmerah, West Jakarta, collapsed without clear reasons. The incident occurred at 09.10 WIB.
As a result of the incident, three people became victims. Two of them were online motorcycle taxi drivers who suffered fractures in their arms and legs. Meanwhile, another one only suffered minor injuries.
