Burhanuddin Invites The National Police To Arrange Internal Prosecutors Related To Building Fires
JAKARTA - Attorney General ST Burhanuddin emphasized that he invited the police to ensnare anyone in the Attorney General's office who was proven to be involved in the main building fire case.
"Please (act) our members if they do and we will submit it and take firm action, that is our commitment," said Attorney General ST Burhanuddin at the House of Representatives Commission III Working Meeting physically and virtually at the Parliament Complex as reported by Antara, Jakarta, Thursday, 24 September.
Burhanuddin, whose name was mentioned yesterday in the trial of the Prosecutor Pinangki Sirna Malasari, said that his party is open to investigating the AGO building fire case which was handled by Bareskrim Polri.
"For fire cases, we are always open and from the start we have made a joint post to reveal this. And I am grateful that what was conveyed by the Criminal Investigation Unit (the perpetrators) must be found," he said.
He claimed that since the beginning of the fire at the Attorney General's Office, his institution together with Bareskrim and Labfor Polri formed a joint post to continue to this day for mutual coordination.
The Attorney General denied that the burning attorney building was used as a storage area for evidence of cases handled by the AGO.
According to him, the burning area of the Main Attorney General's Office is the place for the Deputy Attorney General for Development (Jambin), the Junior Attorney General for Intelligence (Jamintel), the office of the Attorney General, and the Deputy Attorney General.
"So everything is backed up electronically, evidence and case files are in the special criminal building, in the Bulat Building, and general criminal cases are in the building behind the prosecutor's office," he said.
Burhanuddian emphasized that all evidence was completely untouched by the fire so that he guaranteed that anyone's case file was safe.
