Back To Diplopia After Crash At The Mandalika Circuit, Marquez: Deja Vu But Not As Bad As Before
JAKARTA - Repsol Honda racer, Marc Marquez is again in an unpleasant situation regarding his health. This Spanish rider experienced diplopia or visual impairment after crashing at the Mandalika Circuit.
This situation was reported by Marquez himself via his official Instagram on Tuesday, March 22 afternoon WIB. On the way back to Spain, Marquez felt uncomfortable with his eyesight, he called the condition like he had experienced or deja vu.
Realizing his condition was not fine, Marquez immediately visited Sanchez Dalmau, who was his trusted ophthalmologist when he arrived in Barcelona. Sure enough, from the results of the examination, Marquez's diplopia returned.
“I think I have deja vu. During the trip back to Spain, I started to feel uncomfortable with my eyesight, and we decided to visit Dr. Sanchez Dalmau, who confirmed that I had a new episode of diplopia," Marquez said in the caption to his latest photo on Instagram.
Although it has been confirmed that his diplopia has returned, Marquez has slipped a bit of good news. He said the current situation was not as bad as before. He then decided to take more time off to see the development of his eyes.
"Fortunately, it's not as bad as the injury I had late last year. But now it's time to rest and wait to see how the injury develops."
In his unfit state of health, Marquez still had time to express his gratitude for the many supports that were directed at him.
"As usual, thank you so much for everyone's support!!" he concluded.
Last November, Marquez also had the same injury. The diplopia he experienced even made him have to take a break from competition in the long term.
This time, the recurrence of Marquez's diplopia could be the aftermath of the great crash he experienced during the Mandalika MotoGP warm-up session last Sunday, March 20. At that time Marquez fell and was thrown from his motorbike while passing through Turn 7.
The incident made Marc Marquez immediately rushed to the Mataram Hospital and was found to have suffered a concussion. As a result, the eight-time world champion was declared unable to take part in the Mandalika 2022 MotoGP race.
