2,000 Uninhabitable Houses In Cirebon Regency Get Help

CIREBON - As many as 2,000 uninhabitable housing units in Cirebon Regency, West Java, received assistance to be repaired using budgets sourced from the provinces and districts.

"I hope this assistance can be useful, although it has not been felt by all residents whose houses are categorized as BBRS (Independent Home Surgery Assistance)," said Cirebon Regent Imron in Cirebon, Antara, Tuesday, March 22.

Imron said that in 2022, the Cirebon Regency Government has budgeted more than IDR 13 billion to repair 750 uninhabitable housing units. Each received Rp17.5 million, and the aid will be distributed in 77 villages in 25 sub-districts.

According to him, the aid of Rp. 17.5 million per house is not enough. However, his party has also taken into account the level of feasibility with such a nominal amount, because the most important thing is that the community has a decent house to live in and not live in a hut.

"This is stimulant assistance. The rest, please fix it yourself. The important thing is that the house can be walled, the floor is also not a dirt floor," he said.

In addition to the program launched by the Cirebon Regency Government, the repair of uninhabitable houses in Cirebon Regency will also be provided by the West Java Provincial Government.

"From the West Java Provincial Government, there will be assistance for 1,250 uninhabitable houses this year," he said.

Although there are thousands of houses that will be repaired this year, said Imron, the number is still far from the number of houses that must be repaired.

Therefore, his party hopes that there will be support from the surrounding community to be able to help residents in need. "I also hope that this uninhabitable housing assistance program can be reproduced and the value is greater," he said.

Meanwhile, the Secretary of the Cirebon Regency DPKPP Office, Uus Sudrajat, said that the BBRS actually provided housing assistance that was not suitable for habitation. The system given is a stimulant. While the funds received amounted to IDR 17.5 million, IDR 2.5 million must be left for construction costs.

"That is left, meaning that what must be used to buy materials is Rp. 15 million and Rp. 2.5 million can be taken directly by the recipient, but to pay for the handyman," he said.

The requirement for obtaining BBRS, said Uus, is that the land is owned by itself with authentic evidence. In addition, the house must have a physical form and pass the facilitator's assessment.
