KPK Investigate E-KTP Corruption Through A Technical Team From The Directorate General Of Dukcapil, Ministry Of Home Affairs

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is exploring the process of applying the e-KTP which has led to a criminal act of corruption. The investigation was carried out by examining the former Head of the Population Administration Information System Sub-Directorate of the Directorate General of Dukcapil, Ministry of Home Affairs, Muhammad Wahyu Hidayat.

Wahyu was questioned by investigators on Monday, March 21 as a witness for the suspect Director of PT Sandipala Arthapura, Paulus Tannos, who has not been arrested so far.

Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, said the investigation explored a number of things. Including, Wahyu's participation as a technical team.

"Muhammad Wahyu Hidaya, former Head of the Population Administration Information System Sub-Directorate of the Directorate General of Dukcapil, Ministry of Home Affairs, was present and confirmed, among other things, regarding the witness' participation as one of the technical teams in the e-KTP procurement project," Ali said in a written statement, Tuesday, March 22.

In addition, the KPK also examined the former Director of Production of the PNRI who was also the former Director of Reycon Integrated Solutions and Setyo Dwi Suhartanto who was a private employee.

During the examination, Ali said, investigators studied a number of things, mainly related to the preparations made by the PNRI regarding the procurement of e-KTP.

"Both of them were present and confirmed, among other things, related to the preparation of the e-KTP procurement by the PNRI," he said.

As previously reported, this corruption case in the procurement of e-KTP has cost the state up to Rp. 2.3 trillion when referring to the report from the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).

This case dragged the names of a number of high-ranking officials in the ministry, such as the former Director General of Civil Registration and Civil Registration Irman and a former official at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Sugiharto. In addition, there are also the names of former DPR Speaker Setya Novanto, former member of DPR Commission III Fraction Hanura Miryam S Haryani, former DPR Commission III member Markus Nari.

The KPK last named four new suspects in the e-KTP case in August 2020. They are former members of Commission II DPR Hanura Party Fraction Miryam S Haryani, President Director of the Republic of Indonesia Printing Press (PNRI) and Chairman of the PNRI Consortium Isnu Edhi Wijaya, Head of the Information Technology Technical Team for the Application of KTP Husni Fahmi, and President Director of PT Sandipala Arthaputra, Paulus Tanos.
