Get To Know Ana Carrasco, The Only Female Rider To Appear In Moto3 Mandalika
JAKARTA – Ana Carrasco is the only female racer to compete in the 2022 Moto3 season. She was also present at the Mandalika Circuit, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, last weekend.
Ana Carrasco, who played for the Boe SKX team, finished 19th and did not take home any points.
Ana managed to steal the spotlight because she was the only female racer out of the many racers who took part in the race, both in the MotoGP, Moto2, and Moto3 classes.
This Spanish racer has the full name Ana Carrasco Gabarron. He was born in Murcia on March 10, 1997.
The world of motorcycle racing is not a new world for this 25-year-old racer. Before being contracted to appear in Moto3 this year, he had already won the Supersport 300 World Championship in 2018.
At that time, Ana Carrasco rode a Kawasaki Ninja 400 with David Salom Junior Team. She also became the first woman to win a world championship in solo motorcycle road racing.
Ana started racing riding a minibike at the age of three. He was immediately successful in the domestic junior motorcycle racing category with wins in the 125cc Extremeno Speed Championship and 125cc Murcia-Pre-GP Championship in 2009.
She then moved to the FIM CEV International Championship in 2011 and became the first woman to score points in the series. After that, he switched to the CEV Moto3 Championship the following year.
Anna started competing in the Moto3 World Championship in 2013 with the JHK Laglisse team. She is the first woman to score points in the series after finishing 15th in the Malaysian Grand Prix.
He also repeated the feat by finishing eighth at the Valencian Community Grand Prix at the close of the season.
Carrasco moved to RW Racing in 2014 but his season ended early due to sponsorship issues. His campaign in the Moto3 class was also disrupted by an injury while with the RBA Racing Team in 2015.
In 2016, Ana fought in the FIM CEV Moto2 European Championship with Griful. The following year he joined ETG Racing in the newly formed Supersport 300 World Championship in 2017.
In the following year, Ana managed to steal the world's attention because she managed to record her name as a champion in Supersport 300. This success made her record as the first female racer to win a motorcycle racing event.
The next two years were spent by Ana Carrasco in the Supersport 300 World Championship with Kawasaki. He had to take a tough step in early 2021 by choosing to leave Kawasaki and return to work in Moto3 in 2022.
