JAKARTA - It has been more than two years since the COVID-19 pandemic has lasted. During this time of the pandemic, there have been various phenomena that have changed people's lives. One of them is the emergence of a phenomenon called the 'lonely economy'.
This was stated by the Chairman & Founder of CT Corp Chairul Tanjung during the CNBC Indonesia Economic Outlook event, Tuesday, March 22.
"There is one new phenomenon that makes us feel strange but real, namely the lonely economy phenomenon," said CT.
CT explains what is meant by the lonely economy is a phenomenon where many people prefer to survive alone. This gives rise to a new consumption pattern.
For example, said CT, many people choose not to get married, or delay in not having children. This results in increased demand for pets.
"And the increase in personal food orders is because you don't need to cook alone, you don't need to have a helper, you can order anything online," he said.
According to CT, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, various phenomena have occurred. This makes many changes in human life. Even so, CT believes that people will be more accustomed to these changes.
"These things make many changes in our lives. However, God will not give trials beyond the capabilities of his people. Crisis on the one hand brings problems but on the other hand brings blessings," he said.
