Commander General Andika Said TNI Soldiers Are Prohibited From Securing Projects Without The Commander In Chief

JAKARTA - TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa has instructed his subordinates not to secure any projects unless they receive direct orders from the local military commander (pangdam) to be wary of attacks from armed groups.

"Everyone must act in a disciplined and careful manner and not carelessly," said TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa through a YouTube channel monitored in Jakarta, Tuesday, March 22.

He reminded every Kodim commander (Dandim) in all regions, especially in West Papua Province, to always be on duty.

The ranks at lower levels were asked by the TNI Commander to never play games.

"At the same time, you must always be ready anywhere," said the 1987 graduate of the Military Academy.

To his staff, the former Army Chief of Staff said that armed groups could be anywhere. Therefore, the preparedness of every soldier must always be prioritized.

In his briefing to the ranks, the TNI Commander explained that the TNI AU's Rapid Movement Forces (Kopasgat) soldiers were forced to shoot back at armed groups in the Ilaga area of Puncak Regency on January 19, 2022.

This was because the position of the TNI AU Kopasgat soldiers was under attack, making it difficult to avoid a firefight with armed groups that continued to attack.
