As A Long-Term Event, Jokowi Says There Needs To Be Improvements At The Mandalika Circuit

JAKARTA - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo ensured that there are still several things at the Mandalika Circuit that still need to be improved to welcome the next event in the coming years.

This was conveyed by Jokowi after witnessing the 2022 MotoGP race live at the Mandalika Circuit on Sunday, March 20 yesterday.

The repair was needed because the MotoGP contracted the Mandalika Circuit for a duration of 10 years. For that in the following years the event is expected to run more optimally.

"There are a number of things that will be improved related to the implementation of the next international competition," said Jokowi in a statement received by VOI.

After finishing the race, Jokowi was invited to go up to the podium to give trophies to the three best riders who occupy the podiums one to three.

They are Miguel Olivera from the Red Bull KTM team (first podium), Fabio Quartataro from the Yamaha Racing team (second podium), and Johann Zarco from the Pramac Ducati Racing team (third podium).

Jokowi then gave his appreciation after giving the winning trophy to the racer. He said that the organizers of the 2022 MotoGP event in Mandalika were running successfully thanks to the help of all stakeholders and elements of society.

"This is a very extraordinary big event, I thank you, it's a success for all of us," said President Jokowi while giving his remarks.

The Mandalika Grand Prix is the second series race in the MotoGP calendar this year after Qatar. The next race will take place at the Autodromo Termas de Rio Hondo Circuit, Argentina, on April 4.
