Anita Wahid Becomes A Member Of The TikTok Security Advisory Board

JAKARTA - TikTok's creative video platform has formed an Advisory Board to strengthen the security and comfort of its users in the Asia Pacific region. Interestingly, one member of the TikTok advisory board from Indonesia is Anita Wahid.

According to Arjun Narayan as TikTok Director of Trust and Safety Asia Pacific, this external advisor consists of experts who are competent in the field of law and policy, as well as academics from various regions.

"TikTok has taken positive steps forward in improving its policies and processes by establishing an Asia Pacific Security Advisory Council," he said as quoted by TikTok Newsroom, Thursday, September 24.

He added that the Advisory Board will bring together various opinions from experts who can help develop practical policies. Not only to answer current challenges, but also to plan policies for issues that will be faced by the industry in the future.

Later each member of the Council team can provide input according to their expertise and advice on TikTok content moderation policies and practices, both at the regional and global levels.

This Board team also plays an important role in identifying issues that arise in one area that could affect the TikTok platform and users, and developing strategies to address those issues.

"I am sure the DPR members will provide constructive and honest advice and advice, as TikTok continues to strengthen its content policy in Asia Pacific," he continued.

From Indonesia, the daughter of the third President Abdurahman Wahid or Gus Dur, Anita Wahid has become the country's representative on the TikTok Advisory Board team. He admitted that he was pleased to be working with other board members to discuss current problems in the industry and mitigate potential dangers in the future.

The other members of the TikTok Asia Pacific Security Advisory Board, namely Jehan Ara (President of Pakistan Software Houses Association for IT & ITES and Founder of The Nest), Amitabh Kumar (Founder of Social Media Matters), and Nguyen Phuong Linh (Executive Director, Management and Sustainable Development Institute).

Furthermore, there is also Dr. Yuhyun Park (Founder of DQ Institute), Prof. Akira Sakamoto (Professor of the Department of Psychology, Ochanomizu University), and Prof. Seungwoo Son (Professor of Industrial Security, Chung-Ang University).

The council will meet every quarter to discuss key issues, including online security, child safety, digital literacy, mental health and human rights, as well as report observations and provide recommendations on the issues discussed.
