Banning Military Participation In Diversity Training, Trump: Americans Should Be Proud Of Their Country

JAKARTA - President of the United States (US) Donald Trump issued an executive order prohibiting military and government contractors from participating in various diversity trainings. The prohibition was allegedly caused by the diversity of messages containing the concept of dividing the US nation.

"Americans must be taught to care for their own country, and if not, there is nothing in it for you," Trump tweeted via Reuters, Wednesday, September 23.

Trump added that a banning order was also in place for diversity training materials that often cite concerns that the US nation is inherently racist. Also, it is the same as the message that each individual must take responsibility for actions committed in the past by other races or of the same gender.

Therefore, any member of the military who refuses will not be subject to any punishment. Even so, the chair of the Department of American Studies at the University of Maryland, Psyche Williams-Forson, called Trump's order only to please his voters, moreover, the order was issued by Trump just weeks before the US presidential election.

“It's just bluff. "It's a way to calm the minds of people who don't want to face the horror of their ancestors," Williams-Forson said.

He also added that the order would likely reduce the amount of diversity training across the federal government. Therefore, the order has injured many people, especially recently, the US was hit by large demonstrations related to the death of black, George Floyd at the hands of the Minneapolis police last May.

Unfortunately, Trump remains adamant about issuing the order amidst many US companies that are starting to solidify with the black community. in fact, Trump and some lawmakers are still in a position to condemn the "Black Lives Matter" rallies that led to the destruction of many historical monuments in the US.

"By looking at every problem through a racial lens, they want to impose new discrimination on the social circle, and we must not let that happen," Trump said at an event in Washington last week.
