BASRAH Supports Airlangga Hartarto Forward In The 2024 Presidential Election

JAKARTA - Airlangga Hartarto's Santri Volunteer Front (BASRAH) expressed its support for Airlangga Hartarto to run as a presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election.

"We support Pak Airlangga Hartarto running as a presidential candidate because Indonesia needs a strong and experienced leader to bring this nation out of the crisis and at the same time improve the people's welfare," said BASRAH Chairman Solahul Am Notobuwono (Gus Aam) in a statement received by Antara in Jakarta Saturday.

BASRAH assesses that Airlangga Hartarto is a technocrat who is skilled in managing development, especially development in the economic field.

The BASRAH Declaration this time was held at the Rahmatan Lil Alamin Islamic Boarding School Nganjuk on Saturday, March 19, 2022 and was attended by 300 students. Present on the occasion was a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the Regional Election VIII of East Java, Yahya Zaini, as well as a Basrah coach.

On that occasion, Gus Aam asked as an aspiration from the students that Airlangga Hartarto pay attention to the economic development of students and Islamic boarding schools.

"We want him to develop student entrepreneurs and the digital economy among students. The values of independence have been embedded in the souls of students so that they are suitable for entrepreneurial development. We hope that they will have economic independence when they enter the community," he said.

According to him, currently many Islamic boarding schools have economic products. For example, he continued, at Ponpes Rahmatan Lil Alamin Nganjuk, where the declaration has wooden handicraft products, the results of which have been exported to foreign countries.

Gus Aam believes that Airlangga has a vision of developing santri-preneurs. Of course, according to him, support from the students will flow for Airlangga Hartarto's victory in the upcoming 2024 presidential election.
