Myanmar Confirms 31 Cases Of Omicron BA.2

JAKARTA - Myanmar confirmed the first 31 cases of Omicron sub-variant BA.2 on Friday (18/3), the country's Ministry of Health announced.

The case, which was found in 31 patients suspected of being positive for COVID-19, was tested on March 15, he said, as reported by Antara via Xinhua, Saturday, March 19.

As of March 18, the Southeast Asian country had reported 608,384 cases, with 19,420 COVID-19 deaths.

So far, 562,905 COVID-19 patients in Myanmar have been discharged from hospitals and as of Friday the daily positive case rate was recorded at 3.04 percent.
