Kulon Progo Task Force Calls Daily Cases Of COVID-19 Decreased Since PPKM Implementation
KULON PROGO - The Kulon Progo Regency COVID-19 task force, Special Region of Yogyakarta, said the trend of daily COVID-19 cases had decreased in line with the Implementation of Level 4 Activity Restrictions.
The head of the Kulon Progo COVID-19 Task Force, Fajar Gegana, said that according to the Health Service's data, there were 104 daily COVID-19 cases added today. This brings the total number of confirmed positive cases in Kulon Progo to 1,644 people.
This figure was lower than the addition of daily cases in the previous two weeks on Friday, March 4, which was 264 cases with a cumulative positive case of 4,586 cases.
"This figure shows that there tends to be a decrease in both daily cases and the accumulation of positive cases, because the cure rate is also greater than the addition of cases. We can see this week's data shows that daily cases tend to decrease and the recovery rate is also increasing, so that the accumulation of positive cases in early March The number of 4,586 people continued to decline this weekend to 1,644 people," Fajar said in Kulon Progo, Antara, Friday, March 18.
Fajar Gegana also appreciated the joint efforts of the Kulon Progo Police, Kodim 0731, health facilities that were able to help accelerate vaccination for the community and the implementation of health protocols in the community which were proven to be able to reduce positive cases in Kulon Progo.
"We appreciate the efforts of the Resort Police, Kodim 0731 and Puskesmas to work hard to accelerate vaccination by visiting community locations and tightening health protocols in Kulon Progo Regency. This has proven to be able to suppress positive cases," he said.
Meanwhile, data from the Health Office who have participated in the vaccination program from the target of health human resources, public services, the general public and the vulnerable, the elderly, youth and children targeted at 378,177 people have received the first dose of 341,127 people or 90.2 percent, the second dose of 308,351 people or 81.50 percent, and the third dose or booster was 36,747 people or 9.72 percent.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Kulon Progo COVID-19 Task Force, Baning Rahayujati, appealed to the public not to relax the protocol for preventing the spread of COVID-19 in line with the entry of the peak of the third wave of COVID-19.
"We appeal to the public that COVID-19 is still there and we are still at the peak of the third wave. Therefore, we urge the public not to ignore the health protocols, because what we see has begun to decline, especially in maintaining this distance, it has been increased again," he said.
