5 Hours Examined Cases Of Alleged Corruption, Former Head Of Human Settlements Of The West Pasaman Public Works Service Officially Suspect
PASAMAN - The West Pasaman District Prosecutor's Office, West Sumatra, has detained the former Head of the Human Settlements Division of the Public Works Agency (PU) with the initials F in the case of alleged irregularities in the construction of an indoor tennis court for the 2018 fiscal year.
"After about 5 hours of investigation, F, who is the Commitment Making Officer (PPK) was named a suspect and immediately detained," said Head of the West Pasaman District Attorney's Office, Ginanjar Cahya Permana, through the Head of Intelligence Elianto accompanied by the Head of Special Investigations, Andy Suryadi, at Simpang Empat, Friday.
He said the suspect was suspected of committing a criminal act of corruption in the construction of an indoor tennis court for the 2018 budget year with a budget ceiling of Rp. 1.5 billion.
"The loss due to the suspect's actions is around Rp. 200 million more. We are still developing and it is possible that there will be new suspects," he said.
After being named a suspect, he said, the medical team carried out a health check on the suspect and a COVID-19 rapid test to ensure the suspect's health.
"After being declared healthy, the suspect was immediately detained and placed in the West Pasaman Police Detention Center," he said.
According to him, the suspect was subject to Article 2 and Article 3 of the Indonesian Law Number 31 of 1999 was changed to the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 20 of 2021 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption.
He explained that in this case, it was suspected that the implementation of the work did not comply with the technical requirements and the work was terminated.
"Based on that, investigators believe that there is a loss to the state in this work," he said.
His party will continue to develop the indoor tennis court case by looking for anyone involved in the alleged corruption.
"It is possible that there will be new suspects in this case. We will continue to examine a number of witnesses," he said.
He emphasized that he would continue to eradicate corruption that harms the country.
"Please support and good cooperation from all elements in the context of eradicating corruption in West Pasaman," he hoped.
With the arrest of the PPK, he said, the West Pasaman District Prosecutor's Office has arrested two suspects.
"One more person who has been detained is the Director of CV Putra Sejati with the initials RM. Meanwhile, one person is still on the wanted list (DPO) with the initials RA, who is the field executor of the job," he said.
