The Attitude Of Puan 'Opponent' Luhut Is Assessed By Observers Of PDIP Representation Who Are Not Willing To Have Influential Figures At The Palace
JAKARTA - Political observer and Executive Director of Indonesia Political Opinion (IPO) Dedi Kurnia Syah, assessed that the opposition of DPR Speaker Puan Maharani to the statement by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan who claimed to have big data on the postponement of the 2024 election was indeed a representation of PDIP's rejection.
According to him, the big data claimed by Luhut does not make sense. Because, Indonesia's social media users are considered less than 110 million. Moreover, Luhut is still reluctant to reveal the data in question.
"I don't think Luhut's big data is making sense, because our users don't reach 110 million. But if what Luhut means is a statement of support on social media, maybe in the sense that one person can make multiple statements," said Dedi to VOI, Friday, March 18th.
Dedi said that Puan's firm stance against postponing the election by citing the large number of PDIP data shows that the PDIP DPP chairman has the potential to compete in the 2024 General Election.
"Puan is quite clear, PDIP and Puan are quite potential in 2024, so this rejection most likely represents PDIP's attitude towards Luhut," he said.
Second, said Dedi, PDIP could not possibly be willing to have the most influential figure in the palace circle besides Megawati.
"And Mrs. Megawati is competent enough to affirm and maintain our democracy so that it takes place as mandated by the constitution," he said.
According to Dedi, there was neither loss nor gain for PDIP when the postponement was implemented. This means that in 2024, PDI-P is ready from the perspective of political parties and figures that will be promoted.
"The same goes for Gerindra and NasDem who are in the government's territory. Therefore, the strong rejection of Puan, Hasto and others is rational. Because you need that rejection, and the people are on your side. You will get political sympathy," he said.
