COVID-19 Update As Of March 18: New Cases 9,528, Heals Increase By 25,827
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 175,820 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 9,528 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 5,948,610 people and active cases have decreased by 16,498 to 245,979 cases," said Ministry of Health data, Friday, March 18.
Today's recovered cases increased by 25,827 people, bringing the total to 5,549,220 recovered people. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 199 cases and totaled 153,411 people.
The province with the most new cases was in West Java with 2,156 cases and a total of 1,084,948 cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta which has 1,616 new cases with a total of 1,225,683 cases. Central Java has 1,039 new cases and a total of 616,831 cases. East Nusa Tenggara has 722 new cases and a total of 90,096 cases.
The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to West Java with an additional 7,984 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an additional 2,867 recovered cases, Central Java with an additional 2,153 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 1,428 recovered cases.
In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 90,088,638.
"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 13.49 percent," he wrote.
The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 10,714 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.
Furthermore, there are currently 194,437,519 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 153,448,151 the second dose of vaccination. Then, the third dose of vaccination was 16,005,165. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
