Lost For 3 Days, 6th Grade Elementary School Boy Found Dead In West Jakarta BKB

JAKARTA - After three days of searching, the joint SAR team finally managed to find the body of Alfian, a 12-year-old boy who drowned in the West Flood Canal (BKB), Petamburan, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, Friday, March 18.

When found, Alfian was dead. His body was found among a pile of garbage in front of Season City, Tambora, West Jakarta, Friday 18 March.

The joint SAR team found Alfian's body at a radius of 5 kilometers from the initial location where he drowned.

"We found the victim today and was evacuated by the joint SAR team to the RSCM. Then we will hand it over to the family for the next process," said Head of the Jakarta Search and Rescue Office as SAR Mission Coordinator (SMC) in SAR operations, Hendra Sudirman when confirmed by VOI, Friday 18 March.

Hendra said that in the discovery of the victim's body, his team involved dozens of joint SAR personnel. The search is done by dividing the area into 2 locations.

"The first Search and Rescue Unit (SRU) conducted a search by sweeping along the Ciliwung river flow using a rubber boat with a radius of approximately 12 kilometers. Then the second SRU conducted a search by sweeping by land along the banks of the Ciliwung river up to a radius of 8 kilometers," he said. .

The SARs involved in the search consisted of the Jakarta Search and Rescue Office, Tanah Abang Police, Tanah Abang Koramil, DKI Jakarta Damkar, DKI Jakarta BPBD, DKI Jakarta Satpol PP and other volunteers.

Previously, it was reported that Alfian, a 12-year-old boy was reported to have drowned in the West Flood Canal (BKB), Petamburan area, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, March 16, afternoon.

According to Adit (16), a friend of Alfian, the 6th grader drowned after playing in the water on the edge of the BKB River with three of his friends.
